Real Madrid Offer Milan Late Bid For Kaka - Report

As the Kaka transfer drama rumbles on, Real Madrid are attempting to throw a late spanner in the works.

According to the News Of The World, the club contacted Kaka's father on Friday night and signalled their intent to sign the player.

Real Madrid are willing to match Manchester City's record-breaking €120 million bid, but they will not go anywhere near the estimated €562,000-a-week wages that City are said to be offering.

In their favour, however, is the fact that Kaka appears reluctant to move to a club that does not play at the highest level, a platform that Real Madrid can guarantee.
In addition, a move to the Bernabeu would only materialise in the summer, after their club elections, allowing the Brazilian star to play out the season at Milan.

City set to be thwarted as Kaká pledges future to Milan

Kaká has poured cold water on speculation that he could join Brazil team-mate Robinho at Manchester City by pledging his future to Milan.

Kaká, the reigning World Player of the Year, was linked with a move away from the San Siro this summer following Milan's failure to qualify for the Champions League, with Chelsea his rumoured destination.

However with City's new owners, the super-rich Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG), determined to sign the cream of the world's talent, speculation has been rife that the Eastlands club - who achieved a major coup in beating Chelsea to Robinho's signature - could once again be about to frustrate Roman Abramovich in the transfer market.

Kaká, though, whose contract with Milan runs until 2013, insists that he remains committed to the club. "Before it was Real Madrid, now it's England that is in fashion," said the Brazil playmaker. "The market is like that, just as Milan make offers, other clubs make offers to Milan. But I will never ask to leave.

"I have always been treated well by [the club] executives and my rapport is excellent. Perhaps one day they may change their approach with respect to me but I don't see that happening. I will only leave if Milan decide to sell me or perhaps on the day when we no longer have the same objectives, and that day has not come."

Kaká could join the City revolution

The world's number one footballer, Kaká, will consider joining Manchester City next summer if the newly enriched club achieve their initial target of Champions League qualification.

Since last Sunday, City have been under the control of the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG), a vehicle of a Middle East sovereign wealth fund whose representatives have promised to turn them into 'the biggest club in the world, bigger than both Real Madrid and Manchester United' by pursuing 'the biggest players in the world'.

Kaká, Fifa's current World Player of the Year, has been seeking an exit from AC Milan and thought he would be allowed to leave for Chelsea during the summer. Milan ultimately decided against selling the 26-year-old Brazilian, but he believes the club will sanction a 100m euros transfer in a year's time.

'Kaká would prefer a club like Chelsea, Real Madrid or Milan, but we never know,' Kaká's representative Diogo Kotscho told The Observer. 'This season Manchester City do not have a team to win the Champions League. Maybe next season they can get into that competition - they have the prospects to be good enough. What they need to have is a big project to win the Premier League and the Champions League. It's not just about Kaká, they will only get the very best players if they attain this level. It was the same with Chelsea a few years ago - they had to prove themselves too.

'I think Manchester City are headed in the right direction, but they have big work to do. It's no easy thing to reach the same level as the biggest clubs in the world, and it's not just about money - you have to spend it properly and build a great team. In two or three years they can be there if they do the right things.'

In their first 24 hours as City's owners ADUG lodged British record bids of more than £30m each for Tottenham's Dimitar Berbatov, Valencia's David Villa and Real Madrid's Robinho, forcing up Manchester United's expenditure on Berbatov and stealing Robinho from Chelsea's grasp. His acquisition was also intended to provide a star name with which to promote City in the Far East.

ADUG's takeover is also understood to have caught club officials off guard. In the days preceding City's purchase, new chief executive Garry Cook had said that though the club were seeking investment, they were not for sale. Instead, Thaksin Shinawatra accepted an offer of around £200m for a club whose expenditure he could no longer afford to service. The final price will not be settled until ADUG complete due diligence on the club's books and the deal could fall through if significant problems are uncovered.

Though Thaksin's price demands almost resulted in ADUG withdrawing from the purchase last Sunday, the former Thai prime minister could profit by as much as £80m for his 14 months as owner. Thaksin has been allowed to retain a 10 per cent stake in the company and an honorary position on the board.

ADUG forms part of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, a sovereign wealth fund managing an estimated $500bn worth of assets. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan drove the move into Premier League football as a means of promoting the emirate abroad.

The contractors on Liverpool's postponed new stadium project have denied they are considering legal action against the club. Liverpool announced an indefinite delay on construction of the £300m Anfield replacement last month, blaming 'global market conditions' yet promising to investigate increasing the stadium's capacity by 13,000 seats to 73,000.

Liverpool have been able to begin only preliminary work on the site at Stanley Park, resulting in the European Union withdrawing grants to fund the regeneration of the surrounding area.

Though not specifically asked about the possibility of suing Liverpool over the delays, a spokesperson for contractors Laing O'Rourke said: 'Laing O'Rourke continues to work closely with Liverpool FC in order to achieve their ambitions of constructing the new football stadium. Laing O'Rourke further wishes to clarify that it has not considered legal action against Liverpool FC.'

Liverpool's American owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, face a January deadline for refinancing the £350m loan with which they have been running the club. A Dubai-based investment fund remain prepared to buy them out for around £500m, including that debt.

Kaka To Chelsea, Next Summer

Chelsea have been consistently linked with a move for the European and World Footballer of the Year since very early on in Roman Abramovich’s tenureship at Stamford Bridge.

This summer has been the hottest since with regards to speculation, and a few weeks ago the Italian and English press was full of reports over a possible transfer.

This most recent saga started towards the end of July when it was reported that Chelsea had made a €100m bid for Kaka. The next day Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani confirmed that he had rejected a “conspicuous” offer from Chelsea but wouldn’t reveal a figure, before adding that Kaka was not for sale at any price.

Chelsea's chief executive Peter Kenyon then refuted talk of a bid for Kaka, but this didn’t stop the press reporting that the English giants were to make a gargantuan €150m offer for the Brazilian.

Eventually the rampant speculation died down, but a new report in The Times claims that there is a very good chance that the transfer could go through next summer.

Chelsea are said to be already laying the groundwork for a world record deal that will take one year to complete, and are hoping that this long-term tactic will provide the same result as their pursuit of former Rossonero Andriy Shevchenko, who they tried to sign in three consecutive summers before finally capturing him in 2006.

Milan have told Chelsea that they will not sell Kaka this summer, but may reconsider this stance next year. The player himself may also be open to the move due to the presence of Blues manager Luiz Felipe Scolari who coached Kaka for Brazil during their victorious 2002 World Cup campaign in Korea and Japan.

Milan: Kaka Op Useless And Damaging

The doctor has accused professor Runco, the surgeon who operated the player, of making a mistake as he believes the injury to Kaka’s meniscus had nothing to do with the inflammation of his tendon.  

Therefore, it seems there was no point in Kaka’s recent surgery as it didn’t seem to solve anything according to Meersseman.  

“With the operation the player wanted, time was lost because he had to undergo rehabilitation with following the right cures from previously,” said the MilanLab chief.  

“The injury to his meniscus which was solved during the operation had nothing to do with the inflammation.  

“The operation was useless and damaging.”  

Doctor Meersseman also had a few words on Alessandro Nesta’s recent problems.  

“We had to do an infiltration to Nesta and we have to wait a few days. The surgeon who is curing the player is optimistic,” said Meersseman.  

“We also need to be positive but we will have to wait another week or so.”  

Kaka’s injury woes are set to continue following this latest set-back.  

His knee problem is causing such hype that it has led to speculation he may have trouble returning any time soon.

I Will Be Ready For The Start Of Serie A, Promises Kaka

Kaka is confident that he will not miss the start of Serie A as he has some more weeks to recover from the injury he suffered recently.

"Let's see how long this injury will take: there is still one month before the start, therefore there is all the time to cure myself," explained the Brazilian ace.

"I exclude any other surgeries. My return on the pitch has been agreed, therefore there is no hurry."

Kaka also believes that the Milan side which faced Chelsea on Sunday has nothing to do with the real team which will be playing in the upcoming season.

"We are still preparing ourselves, we have some missing players and others have not arrived yet.

"However, this will not happen again as these are things which we cannot allow to happen when we wear this shirt, but only at the end of the month things will get serious," concluded the midfielder.

Tendonitis To Rule Kaka Out Of Pre-Season

The chronic injury was largely responsible for Ronaldinho's troubles last season and has also prevented Owen Hargreaves from playing as regularly as he would have liked for Manchester United during their double-winning season.

Milan's official website have revealed that the World Player of the Year will undergo specialist treatment in the coming days following “a persistent inflammation of the left knee", with the 26-year-old having to be withdrawn during Friday's loss to Sevilla.

There are already fears that, given this was the same knee that caused him to miss most of last season, the attacking midfielder may endure a similarly torrid campaign this year.

With Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato at the Olympics and Marco Borriello ruled out for two months, Kaka's presence is crucial to the Rossoneri in the early goings of this season, with even Filippo Inzaghi struggling with muscle problems.

Youngster Alberto Paloschi is currently the only fully fit striker available to coach Carlo Ancelotti, with O Globo contending that Kaka will need at least two weeks to fully recover from the injury.

Tendonitis is a notoriously persistent injury and often, once diagnosed, can rarely be permanently cured.

Milan Beat Inter On Penalties To Lift The TIM Trophy

The Rossoneri started the game brightly with Kaka going close early on following his super run on goal before Julio Cesar was forced to smother the danger.
Inter then responded with Luis Figo playing a brilliant one-two with Jimenez before Abbiati pushed the drive out for a corner but the Nerazzurri failed to capitalise.
The game began to pick up pace midway through with both teams searching for a winner and it was new signing, Sulley Ali Muntari’s turn to test the Milan defence.
The Ghanaian unleashed a superb drive from distance which saw Abbiati make an equally impressive save to prevent Inter from going a goal to the good.
Kaka once again went on one of his trademark runs which left Esteban Cambiasso for dead. However it was another brilliant save from Cesar which denied him.
Neither side were then able to take the lead and the game was decided via a penalty shoot out.
Kaka stepped up first to send Toldo, who replaced Cesar, the wrong way before Adriano levelled for Inter by fooling Abbiati from 12 yards.
It was then down to Massimo Oddo but the stopper saw his tame effort saved by Toldo. Luis Figo also had his effort saved by Abbiati who gathered comfortably.
Jankulovski then restored Milan’s lead before Suazo hit home to level the scores.
Favalli and Jimenez both missed their efforts before Brocchi and Santon stuck theirs away comfortably.
Digao then restored Milan’s lead before Muntari missed his.
The 4-3 result means Milan win the Trofeo Tim with four points with Juve ending runners up also with four points but Milan had the better head to head record. Inter finish the tournament with just one point.

Chelsea To Offer Kaka £1m A Month

Just when you thought the saga was over, once again reports hit the press over a possible Kaka move from Milan to Chelsea.

The most recent episodes in this soap opera started just over a week ago when it was reported that Chelsea had made a €100m offer for the Brazilian.

The next day Milan transfer guru Adriano Galliani confirmed that he had rejected a “conspicuous” offer from Chelsea but wouldn’t reveal a figure, before adding that Kaka was not for sale at any price.

Chelsea's chief executive Peter Kenyon then refuted talk of a bid for Kaka, but this didn’t stop the Gazzetta dello Sport from then reporting that the English giants were to make a gargantuan €150m offer for the Brazilian.

This was again rubbished by Galliani, who stated that the press were just making up the rumours, and would soon print stories of a €200m bid.

All talk of a transfer appeared to have died down until a report in The Observer today claimed that Chelsea are set to offer Kaka £1m-a-month in order to tempt him into joining them this season. This would make the 26-year-old the first £1m-a-month player in footballing history

"Kaka's contract gives him €9million in its first season and rises by a million euros for each of its five years," a Milan source revealed. "To better that, Chelsea will have to begin at more than £200,000 a week."

A source close to the World Cup winner also told the Observer that Kaka "has been offered a considerably bigger offer than Milan's.”

It remains to be seen what the truth is, and how both Chelsea and Milan react to this latest report, but one thing is for sure, and that is the speculation surrounding Chelsea and Kaka just will not go away

Agent - Kaka happy at Milan

Kaka's agent has insisted that the reported Chelsea target is happy at AC Milan and is not looking to move on.

The Brazil playmaker has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge, but the Rossoneri have no interest in allowing their star man to leave.
And Gaetano Paolillo insists his client is content at the San Siro, where he is under contract until 2013.
"Kaka has always been happy at Milan and he still is," he said.
"He has a special feeling with the fans and with everyone. His family is happy at Milan."
Last season, Spanish champions Real Madrid made a bid for the 26-year-old but their efforts were rebuffed. They revived their interest again this year but with the same result.
Paolillo is not surprised by the interest shown in Kaka by top European clubs.

"It's normal that every year big clubs like Chelsea and Real Madrid make offers to sign key players like Kaka," he added.
"When (Chelsea owner Roman) Abramovich's offer came to light, Real contacted us to say that if the player was up for sale they would be interested as well."
Paolillo has not ruled out the possibility of Kaka playing for Chelsea one day but believes that all depends on Milan's intentions.
"(Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe) Scolari has infinite affection for Kaka but regardless of this, for Abramovich, Kaka is the dream that is missing, Kaka is in his dreams," said Paolillo.
"It will depend on Milan. If (AC Milan owner Silvio) Berlusconi wants to keep him at Milan it will be difficult for Kaka to leave.
"If a player is happy he remains in a squad."

Los Merengues made contact with the Rossoneri amid reports that Chelsea are preparing a mega offer for the Brazilian star and want to ensur that they do not miss out. Milan's vice-president, Adriano Galliani, confirmed that the Spanish giants had made enquiries, but then reiterated that the player would not be going anywhere this summer. "I was on Abramovich's boat," he said. "I wanted to talk about Shevchenko and he wanted to talk about Kaká, but in the end nothing happened. "On the other hand, I can say that Madrid have again asked about Kaká." Ramón Calderón has already seen his popularity sorely tested over the Milan star after promising to sign both him and Cesc Fàbregas during his race for the Madrid presidency. Arjen Robben was the club's third choice and while he arrived, fans have not forgotten the club's supremo's failure to keep his promise on the more cherished stars. The Madrid chief is currently under pressure after spending the summer making assurances that Ronaldo would be joining from Manchester United, only for the tide appearing to be turning against him. Chelsea's interest in Kaká appears to be going nowhere with Milan dismissing reports that they had received a mega offer or were ready to accept one. "We will never sell him," Galliani added. Scolari's plea to Chelsea: 'Get Kaka'

Luiz Felipe Scolarihas made 'a personal request to Chelsea that they must sign Kaká', the Milan and Brazil playmaker who is the current World Footballer of the Year. Although Chelsea denied having made a bid, Adrian Galliani, Milan's vice-president, said last night: 'I can confirm that we have received offers from England for Kaká. But the fans can be calm because Kaká will remain at Milan despite the offers received from Chelsea.'

Scolari's request, confirmed by a highly placed source at Stamford Bridge last night, provides the first defining test of the Brazilian's power and influence at the club and how successful his tenure as coach may be.

'We have not bid for Kaká,' said a spokesperson. However, it is thought a representative from the Serie A club was in London last week to meet the Chelsea hierarchy. Two weeks ago, Galliani claimed Chelsea had made an 'astronomical' bid for the player whom Scolari gave his international debut to in 2002.

On Friday, in Brazil, Kaká's assistant Diogo Kotscho said: 'Real Madrid offered €90m [£70m] last summer and Milan did not even think about it. This time is different. This is the first time we feel a deal will definitely happen. Because of the [financial] situation Milan are in at the moment, the deal is good for all parties.'

Kaká has been reluctant to leave the club he joined in 2003. 'He has always been very loyal to Milan,' a friend said. 'But he has been advised to move on for a fresh challenge.' Milan are not in this season's Champions League.

There were also reports last night that Chelsea had bid for the Real Madrid winger Robinho. 'There was a firm offer from Chelsea of €40m [£32m], but Madrid's president didn't want to transfer him,' claimed Robinho's agent, Wagner Ribeiro. 'I think it is difficult for Robinho to move to Chelsea.'

Galliani Confirms Blues' Bid For Kaka

Brazil and Milan ace Kaka was the latest big name to be linked with a mega move this week as the elite clubs continue to test each other's resolve in the summer transfer market.

Big-spenders Chelsea reportedly sought to lure the Rossoneri's star man to the Premiership, just after the Serie A side linked him up with his countryman Ronaldinho.

A €100m bid has been mentioned and subsequently went some way to unsettling the midfield maestro.

The 26-year-old went on to claim that there were in fact two clubs after his services, with his apparent advisor, Diogo Kotscho, adding that, although Real Madrid had failed to land the player last year, a move to London was more likely.

However, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed that, although Chelsea have laid their credit cards on the table, bigwig Silvio Berlusconi hasn't taken the rather expensive bait.

“Chelsea want Kaka?” Galliani cheekily asked eager reporters on Saturday. “It's true - they have made a conspicuous offer - but I won't tell you how much it is.

Adding that his boss has a backbone of steel, Galliani continued: "President Berlusconi basically says no to Kaka [leaving], just as he did when Real Madrid wanted [Andrei] Shevchenko in 2001.

“Even Clarence Seedorf is staying here; the fans can sleep easy.”

Kaka Wants Chelsea, Says Spokesman

Diogo Kotscho, a man who has also been described as Kaka's personal assistant or advisor, has given Rossoneri fans real cause for concern by saying that all is lined up for Kaka to leave the San Siro for Stamford Bridge, not least of all his boss's intent.

"Real Madrid offered 90 million euros (£71million) last summer and Milan did not even think about the bid," Kotscho was quoted as saying by the Guardian.

"This time is different. This is the first time we feel that a deal will definitely happen.

"Because of the situation Milan are in at the moment, the deal is good for all parties involved.

"The move would represent a significant increase in Kaka's salary, on top of the 10% transfer fee that goes straight to the player anyway - some 15 million euros (£12million).

"Chelsea are the club to be at right now. They are building a team to win everything."

Despite their adamant protests throughout the summer so far - as well as this time last year when Real Madrid came calling - the powers that be at Milanmay be coaxed into selling their star player following the purchase of Ronaldinho, a ready-made replacement who they bought at a fraction of the price.

Kaka beaming after Ronnie move

AC Milan hotshot and Brazilian international midfielder Kaka has expressed his joy and delight after it was announced late on Tuesday night that his club have eventually signed Ronaldinho from FC Barcelona.

It was announced late in Tuesday that Ronaldinho would join Milan on a three year contract worth 20 million euros for a transfer for of potentially 25 million euros.

Kaka, who is the main and most important player at Milan, has always wanted Ronaldinho to join Milan and has never even remotely thought that he and his compatriot cannot play together.

Now that Milan have finally made Ronaldinho their own, this is what the reigning World Player of the Year had to say about the two times former World Player of the Year:

"I'm very happy with the arrival of Ronaldinho, who will bring much talent and quality to Milan and this will enable us to fight for all titles.

With a note on their official website, AC Milan wanted to silence the rumours going around in Brazil concerning Kaká's possible participation to the Beijing Olympics with the Brazilian national team.

Kaká's Milan team mate Pato probably will be a part of the Brazilian squad, and there were even rumours that Andrea Pirlo and Filippo Inzaghi would join the Italian squad in Beijing.

Chelsea Make Huge Offer For Kaka

European and World Footballer of the Year Kaka has consistently been the subject of multi-million pound bids from Chelsea and Real Madrid over the past few years, however Milan have repeatedly stated that the Brazilian is not for sale.

Galliani has revealed that the Rossoneri have received yet another huge offer for their star player.

"For Kaka, a really big offer has arrived from Chelsea," said Galliani to La Stampa, before also revealing that their had been a number of offers for midfield creator Andrea Pirlo.

"For Pirlo, there have been many requests. As for him, neither Pirlo nor his agent have come in to my office asking for an improvement in his salary."

The 29-year-old’s agent was quoted in the press as saying that his client deserved to be paid the same amount of money as Kaka.

The Brazilian currently earns a reported €7.5m a year, while the Italian, despite being a virtual irreplaceable figure at the club, picks up almost half of this, earning €4m.
