Fast forward two years and the Brazil-born Portugal-adoptee won the Champions League again, this time for Barcelona.
Speaking to The Sun, the £8.3million signing said: "I'd love to win the Champions League with Chelsea. It would be fantastic because I know how much Chelsea want to win this competition. Everyone here wants to win titles and that is why I chose to join the club."
Concerning the club's chances of winning Europe's most prestigious competition, Deco said: "Chelsea has a lot of quality and I think we have everything necessary to win the Champions League — and also the Premier League."
He added: "You need three things to win the Champions League. Firstly, you have to play every game to the absolute best of your ability. Secondly, you need great players, which we have. And thirdly, you need luck, which was what Chelsea didn't have in the final last time."
