Anelka To Scolari: Get Robinho

The Blues have made no secret of their desire to lure Robinho away from the Santiago Bernabeu, and have supposedly had an official bid of over £30million turned down by los Blancos, who are thought to be demanding nearer £50million.

Blues boss Luiz Felipe Scolari, a known admirer of the Brazil star, is keen to encourage competition on the flanks, and has challenged the likes of Florent Malouda and Shaun Wright-Phillips to win back a place in the starting XI.

Anelka is similarly eager to see the wide roles accounted for, as he has voiced his dissatisfaction at being regularly deployed on the wings by Avram Grant last term.

And the Frenchman believes Robinho would be an excellent addition at Stamford Bridge, pointing in particular to the 24-year-old's versatility.

"He can play everywhere, he's a very good player," said Anelka. "He can score, he can give some assists. He's always good for a player like me - a striker - and for Chelsea."
